Consumer Protection

I consider Consumer Protection a major benefit to modern day life. It provides us with a valid tool to protect ourselves from cheap “similar” products from the Far East; which I may add, are often sold as EU originals. Shirts are a key example, Italian names, with Italian prices, but with origins that are far from our shores.

Housewares and kitchenware products are no different. Do we really know what we are buying from sourced Far Eastern products?

In these days, we have heard a lot about “political” and “financial” union within the EU; but we do not hear about a Union of EU Consumers. In fact the level of Consumer Protection varies greatly from country to country.

As an example, take a look at BT UK. In the UK it is a highly respected telecommunications company that offers service and quality. BT Italy instead is the opposite. It offers a bad and antiquated broadband service (only 7mega!), and where it’s clients have very little chance of protest. BT Italy does have a “web care”, but complaints are seldom answered.

It does seem to me that we are living in an age where international groups have the luxury of being able to avoid their clients at all times, especially if they have already paid.

When I receive a valid complaint from my clients or from my client’s client, I do my best to put it right. However no all complaints are always valid.

I remember a case some years ago. We had a client in Germany that bought our model Limpida, the basic 4 items, plus the serving items.

We started to receive an ever increasing number of complains. It was only when we were able to examine the items being returned that we realized that the items in question were not ours, but Chinese copies. People were returning the rusting Chinese versions to our client’s store and obtaining a replacement!

I, and many of my colleagues have been fighting Brussels for many years, for more legislation against Chinese imports, but Brussels has often been reluctant to act, preferring to put our health at risk rather than cause an international incident with China.

China does have a very bad track record for using dangerous chemicals and/or using uncertified materials. Is it too much to ask to have our health protected?

After the success of CROMOTERAPIA-BENESSERE IN TAVOLA® (Cromoterapia tableware), Eme Innovation and Tognana Porcellane have decided to expand the range to include a new cookware range, that consists of 7 articles in 7 different colours; the basis of the CROMOTERAPIA-BENESSERE IN TAVOLA® concept. But also a visual “colour” aid to find the pan/saucepan that you want!

Red – Casserole + lid Ø 16 cm
Orange – Casserole + lid Ø 20 cm
Yellow – Wok Ø 28 cm
Green – 2 handled pan + lid Ø 28 cm
Blue – Pan Ø 22 cm
Indigo – Pan Ø 26 cm
Violet – Pan Ø 30 cm

COOKWARE CHARACTERISTICS

Excilon is an inorganic ceramic; a technologically advanced non-stick finish that is also ecological. It is free of any form of PFOA; and has excellent nonstick characteristics, resistant to scratching and high temperatures.

The body is in aluminium with a thickness variant from 2,5 to 4.5 mm, so as to obtain better heat diffusion and what is more important, no heat spots. External finish in 7 different colours.

The base of the cookware has a stainless steel metal plate which makes our cookware suitable for induction cooking.

The handles are ergonomic, heat-resistant, and have a special “soft touch” finish for a better grip.

The lids are in tempered glass with a vapour “escape” for safer and better controlled cooking. The lid has a silicon rim that protects the lid from knocks and provides a hermetic closure.

However I will be available most of the time to offer customer support, prices, and to take orders for immediate processing after the summer break, so please do not hesitate to contact me.

If you are planning to make an order in the next couple of days, please note that the last shipping date is 26/07/2012, so please do not leave it to the last minute. Even the transport companies close for August.

Main Menu of Eme Price List/Catalogue App

This is just a snapshot of the main menu page of the Eme Price List/Catalogue.

Each word has a built in link.

I will be showing more of the new app in the not too distant future.

As already stated on Facebook, this is just a beta. My intention is to make the program multi-language, but this takes time, and I am only developing the app in my spare time.

Comments are always welcome.

A Few Numbers About Eme

I have just finished creating the new database for the new iPad price list and catalogue application.

I thought that you might like to know that we have:

  • 7098 articles. This number does not include for the colour variants. (I have still to add these).
  • 214 models of which 95% are “Made in Italy”.
  • 14 day delivery time (far more efficient than our EU leaders that do not even know the meaning of Team Work).
  • 300,000pcs per day production capacity.
  • ZERO job loss.

Eme and SR Price Lists for ipad and Window based tablets

I am pleased to annouce that I am working on an interactive price list that will incorporate both Eme and SR price lists.

It will be adaptable for ipad and Windows tablets.

The interactive price list will have the following functions:

  • Easy to find models or group of products
  • Full filtering capability
  • Photo of each model
  • Possibility to insert a discount that will automatically discount the whole price list
  • Easy to update prices
  • Touch screen capability
  • Product descriptions in English and French
  • At a later date I will also include a small database that will enable you to memorize the prices given to a specific client. I already have this function available on another program that I have developed.

I plan to have the new interactive price list available before August, but as I am developing the program in my spare time, it may not be ready until September.

For those that are more experienced in using ipads, should there be any specific functions that may be required? Please let me know.

Which Flatware To Buy? And Our New Website!

It is often very difficult to know what flatware to buy, and therefore I have created the following diagram using a great little app call “Mindnode“, an Apple App.

I think that it is self explanatory, but if you have any questions, please just ask.

Please also note  that our new website www.eme-posaterie.it has been launched today.

I would be most grateful to receive your feed back.
